Overview

Taskzilla is a task management platform designed for teams that need a clearer way to manage projects, assign work, and understand daily priorities.

The product brings task boards, timelines, collaboration tools, project details, and AI-supported delegation into one workspace. The focus is not only on tracking tasks, but on helping teams decide what needs attention, who should handle it, and how work should move forward.

02

Initial condition

Many task platforms show project activity, but they often leave decision-making to the user. Taskzilla needed to make priorities, progress, workload, and deadlines easier to read at a glance.

The challenge was to design an interface that feels calm and structured while still supporting active project movement, team collaboration, and AI-assisted decisions.

03

Design intent

  • Create a clear workspace for project and task visibility
  • Make priority, deadline, and progress easy to understand
  • Place AI support directly inside the workflow
  • Reduce friction in task creation and assignment
  • Support different working modes through board, timeline, and collaboration views
04

Approach

  1. 01

    Research

Studying task management patterns, team workflows, and common decision points.

  2. 02

    Structure

Organizing the platform around projects, tasks, timelines, collaboration, and AI support.

  3. 03

    Interface System

Creating a clean dashboard system with cards, tabs, modals, and status labels.

  4. 04

    AI Integration

Positioning AI around reassignment, priority review, summaries, and task support.

  5. 05

    Final Design

Refining hierarchy, spacing, interaction flow, and visual consistency across screens.

05

Visual language

The visual direction uses a white and light grey workspace with blue as the main action color. This keeps the product clean, focused, and easy to scan.

The interface relies on soft cards, rounded panels, clear tabs, progress bars, and compact status labels. Red, yellow, green, and blue are used only where they serve a clear function: urgency, progress, completion, priority, or action.

The result is a product that feels professional without becoming heavy.

06

User experience

The experience is built around fast orientation.

The user can enter a project and immediately understand the active view, team members, task status, overdue items, and progress. The left sidebar keeps the main navigation stable, while the top project header keeps context visible.

The board view supports daily execution through task cards grouped by status. Each card includes category, priority, owner, due date, progress, and quick actions.

The collaboration view shifts the focus to workload and delegation. AI suggestions help identify delayed tasks, overloaded team members, and possible reassignment actions.

The timeline view gives a planning layer, turning tasks and meetings into a clear schedule.

The project creation flow uses focused modals, allowing users to create projects, define summaries, set priority, assign dates, and review subtasks without leaving the workspace.

Key design moves

Controlled Dashboard Structure

The interface gives users a complete view of project activity without visual noise.

AI in the Right Place

AI appears where decisions happen, not as a separate feature.

Clear Task Hierarchy

Each task card shows the information needed to understand status and priority quickly.

Flexible Project Views

Board, timeline, document, collaboration, and mentions views support different working styles.

Focused Modal Flow

Project creation and task details stay inside the main workspace, reducing unnecessary movement.

09

Outcome

Taskzilla turns project management into a clearer and more decision-ready experience.

The final design gives teams a structured way to view priorities, track progress, assign work, and respond to delays. The AI layer supports the workflow without interrupting it, making the platform feel useful, calm, and built for active teams.
